1. Introduction

This privacy policy describes how Fysh Technical Viewfinder ("the App") handles information. The App is a camera companion tool for medium format technical photographers, providing real-time frameline overlays, lens movement simulation, Scheimpflug tilt visualization, and bellows extension/reciprocity failure calculations.

This policy applies to both the iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play) versions of the App.

2. Information We Collect

We collect no personal information whatsoever.

The App does not:

Create user accounts or profiles
Collect names, email addresses, or contact information
Record or store photographs or video
Track your location
Collect device identifiers or advertising IDs
Use cookies or similar tracking technologies
Transmit any data over the internet
Include any analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry SDKs in production builds

3. Device Permissions

The App requests the following device permissions, which are used solely for on-device functionality:

Camera Permission (Required)

Purpose: Display a live camera preview with frameline overlays so you can see what your film camera will capture at the scene.
What happens: The camera feed is rendered directly to your screen in real time. No images or video are captured, saved, or transmitted. When you close the App, the camera feed stops entirely.
If denied: The frameline overlay feature will not function. The Scheimpflug visualizer and exposure calculator will still work.

Motion Sensor Permission (Required on iOS)

Purpose: Power the built-in horizon level indicator using the device's accelerometer and gyroscope (IMU).
What happens: Sensor data is read in real time to display a level indicator on screen. No motion data is stored or transmitted.
If denied: The level indicator will not function. All other features will still work.

4. Data Storage

The App stores a small amount of non-personal preference data locally on your device using the platform's standard mechanism (SharedPreferences on Android, UserDefaults on iOS). This includes:

Selected focal length preset (e.g., 90mm)
Rise/fall and shift slider positions
Frame orientation preference (wide/tall)
Scheimpflug visualizer parameter settings (tilt angle, aperture, focus distance, camera height)
Exposure calculator settings (bellows draw, f-stop, shutter speed, film stock selection)

This data:

Never leaves your device
Is not backed up to any server we operate
May be included in your device's standard backup (iCloud or Google backup) depending on your device settings
Is deleted when you uninstall the App

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses no third-party services. Specifically:

No analytics platforms (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar)
No crash reporting services (no Crashlytics, Sentry, Bugsnag, or similar) in production builds
No advertising networks or ad SDKs
No social media SDKs
No third-party authentication providers
No content delivery networks
No server-side components of any kind

The App makes zero network requests after installation. It functions entirely offline.

6. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Since no data is collected at all, no special provisions for children's data are necessary. The App contains no inappropriate content and is suitable for all ages.

7. International Data Transfers

No data transfers occur. All data stays on your device in the jurisdiction where you use it.

8. GDPR Compliance (European Economic Area)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679:

Data controller: Not applicable. No personal data is processed.

Data subject rights: Since we hold no data about you, there is nothing to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, or object to. If you have any concerns, you may contact us at the address below and we will confirm that we hold no data.

For complete transparency: the camera feed and motion sensor data are processed in real time on your device solely for the purpose of displaying the App's interface. This processing is performed locally and no data is retained after it is rendered to screen.

9. Australian Privacy Act Compliance

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs):

APP 1 (Open and transparent management): This policy describes our practices. We do not collect personal information.
APP 3 (Collection of solicited personal information): We do not solicit or collect personal information.

12. Google Play Data Safety

For Google Play's Data Safety section, the App declares:

Data shared with third parties: None
Data collected: None
Security practices: Data is encrypted in transit — not applicable (no data transmitted). Data cannot be deleted — not applicable (no data collected on our end). Local preferences are deleted when the App is uninstalled.

13. Changes to This Policy

If we ever add features that change our data practices (for example, cloud sync, crash reporting, or analytics), we will:

Update this privacy policy before releasing the feature
Clearly describe what data is collected and why
Obtain user consent where required by law
Update the App Store and Google Play privacy declarations
Note the change date at the top of this policy

We do not anticipate any such changes. The App is designed to be a private, offline tool.
